Designed for Extreme Adventure Lovers, the program will allow participants to climb an Island peak (6189m) before running at the World’s Highest Marathon, Tenzing Hillary Everest Marathon. With minimum or no experience, participants can climb a peak above 6000m through the program. Be advised that any sort of physical activity above 4000m makes a greater demand on the body than at lower elevations and it can be arduous even for fit runners.

Itinerary Descriptions

Day 1

May 13

Arrive in Kathmandu. Transfer to Hotel

Day 2

May 14

(i) Morning trek briefing and half-day sightseeing tour in Kathmandu (OR) (ii). If flight is from Ramechhap, Briefing/Sightseeing and drive to Ramechhap Time: 5-6 hrs

Day 3

May 15

Fly to Lukla and Trek to Phakding (2640 m) Distance: 11km Time: 6 hrs.

Day 4

May 16

Trek to Namche Bazaar (3440 m) Distance: 15km approximately Time: 5 hrs.

Day 5

May 17

Rest day at Namche Bazaar for acclimatization and excursion.

Day 6

May 18

Trek to Deboche 3820m via Thyangboche (3867m) Distance: 6km approx. Time: 5hrs.

Day 7

May 19

Trek to Dingboche (4260 m) Distance: 12km approx. Time: 5hrs.

Day 8

May 20

Rest and Acclimatization day at Dingboche.

Day 9

May 21

Trek to Chhukung. Time: 5 hrs approximately. Difficulty: Moderate to Strenuous Altitude: 4730m

Day 10

Rest day at Chhukung for Acclimatization, Hire Gear and Climbing Training

Day 11

Trek to Island Peak Base Camp, Time: 3-4 hrs. approximately. Difficulty: Moderate to Strenuous. Altitude: 4970m.

Day 12

Rest day at Island Peak Base Camp for Preparation

Day 13

May 25

Early morning start climbing, Summit of Island Peak and return to Base Camp. Time permitting, continue trek to Chhukung

Trek to Lobuche, Time: 6-7 hrs approximately Difficulty: Moderate to Strenuous Altitude: 4,840m

Day 15

Trek to Gorakshep (5100 m) Distance: 6km approx. Time: 5 hrs.

Early morning hike up to Kalapatthar View point Distance: 2 km Time: 2-3 hrs Difficulty: Moderate Altitude: 5545m (Highest Point of the Trek) Trek to Everest Base Camp Distance: 6 km approximately Time: 3-4 hrs Difficulty: Moderate Altitude: 5364m

MARATHON DAY: 70KM & 42KM - Everest Base Camp to Namche Bazaar, (21KM - Dingboche to Namche Bazaar) Time: Depends on self Difficulty: Adventurous Altitude: 5364m-3446m

Day 18

Rest in Morning. Afternoon trek to Monjo Distance: 8 km approximately Time: 4-5 hrs Difficulty: Moderate Altitude: 2850m

Day 19

May 31

Trek back to Lukla Distance: 10 km approximately Time: 4-5 hrs Difficulty: Leisurely pace Altitude: 2860m
