Introduction

The Special package is an opportunity for Trail Runners to explore the Everest Region along with running at the World’s highest Marathon, Everest Marathon. Everest Marathon with Gokyo Valley is a extraordinary package which takes participants to Gokyo lake (4,800m), a hike to Gokyo ri(5,357 m) and requires crossing a pass,Cho-la pass at 5,367m. Witnessing astonishing views of mountains from Gokyo ri and Cho-la pass, participants get to hike to Kalapattar (5,545 m) to witness close up views of Mt. Everest. 

After a scenic trek, participants will run from Everest Base Camp to Namche Bazaar at the Everest Marathon, completing the grand adventure.

Arrive in Kathmandu. Transfer to Event Hotel.
May 15
Morning Sightseeing tour of Kathmandu. Preparation day for the trek.
May 16
Fly to Lukla and Trek to Phakding 2,640 m Distance: 11km Time: 6 hrs.
May 17
Trek to Namche Bazaar 3,440 m Distance: 15km approximately Time: 5 hrs.
May 18
Rest day at Namche Bazaar for acclimatization and excursion.
May 19
Trek to Dole 4,110 m Time: 5hrs.
May 20
Trek to Machhermo 4,470 m Time: 5hrs.
May 21
Trek to Gokyo Lake (4,800m) Time: 4hrs.
May 22
Rest day at Gokyo for acclimatization and excursion.
May 23
Hike to Gokyo ri (5,357m) and trek to Thagnag (4,750m) Time: 4hrs.
May 24
Cross Cho-la pass (5,367m) to reach Dzongla (4,850m) Time: 6hrs.
May 25
Trek to Lobuche (4,840 m) Time: 5hrs.
May 26
Trek to Gorakshep, 5100m Time: 5 hrs.

Trek to Everest Base Camp (5,364 m), hike to Kalapattar (5,545 m) Time: 3-4hrs

Rest day at Everest Base Camp (EBC).

Dear Everest Marathon Runners,

 

This comes aftermath of Nepal Government’s Announcement of Stricter Rules for Tourist Arrivals, Tourist Movements within the country and Quarantine Requirement against New Version Covid-19 Pandemic. Even Everest Base Camp has recorded certain “Covid Positive Cases” which has alarmed the World & Nepal Government by International Media Report ALERTS.

 

Due to the New Rule imposed by Nepal Government with lockdown in Kathmandu Valley & several other districts across the Nation, along with the mandatory quarantine restrictions for all International Traveler tourists inside Nepal, it will not be easy and comfortable for all to travel in to Nepal and trek to Everest Base camp and run our Everest marathon this year. Hence, considering all these facts, we have decided to postpone the Everest Marathon for next year 2022 only, on the same day of 29th of May, 2022. Because our first and foremost priority is the health and safety of our marathon runners.

 

The Organisers of the Marathon Event, regret the Inconvenience caused to all our Runners across the World, even though the decision has been taken for the Safety of our Runner Participants.
