This traditional route passes equal to the elevation of Namche Bazaar and discovers the fertile valleys and the hospitality of the Sherpa people without the vast crowds found beyond Lukla on this classic Everest trail. The original expedition route between Jiri and Namche Bazaar has been all, but ignored since the construction of the Lukla airport, sponsored by Sir Edmund Hillary in order to deliver supplies to the schools and hospital he founded.
